Newcastle Keeper Joins Gateshead on Loan

Dan Langley, a young goalkeeper, has joined National League outfit Gateshead for a season-long loan.

After a successful trial, the 21-year old shot-stopper joined United’s Academy in 2016. He made his debut in a friendly against York City in July 2021. Then, he played another game at Doncaster Rovers.

The Magpies’ December 2020 2-1 Premier League win against West Bromwich Albion saw the Northumberland-born goalkeeper named to the bench.

Langley, who is 6ft 7ins tall and is still awaiting his senior competitive debut has been allowed to join The Heed, which is currently managed by Mike Williamson, a former Magpies centre back, to increase his experience.

After winning the National League North title, Gateshead was promoted to the National League, the fifth tier in English football.
