Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • To lead the U18 multidisciplinary team in the management and delivery of the U18 team in line with the club’s coaching curriculum.

  • To work alongside the Individual Coach Analyst to provide additional 1:1 analysis and on-pitch sessions for players in the Professional Development Phase.

  • Ensure that all PMA tasks are completed for the U18 age group.

  • Contribute to the effective review and feedback programme for players, to help monitor player progress and development.

  • Work with the Individual Coach Analyst to create and maintain best practice libraries and individual player libraries.

  • To adhere to the Coaches Code of Conduct

  • To develop and maintain a professional relationship with the players within the Professional Development Phase.

  • Support the Head of Coaching with our in-house staff education initiatives.

  • Complete CPD (Continuous Professional Development) to maintain coaching qualifications.

  • To maintain FA/FAW Licensed Coaches Club membership criteria.

  • To contribute to the assessment of trialists at both training and games and feedback to the Head of Recruitment.

  • Carry out any other reasonable management requests.

About The Candidate

Person Specifications

Qualification:

Essential

  • UEFA A Licence

  • FA Advanced Youth Award

  • DBS check undertaken


Desirable

  • UEFA Pro Licence

  • Degree in Sports Coaching or related subject


Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

Essential

  • Minimum three years coaching experience within an Academy.

  • Depth and quality of experience within individual player development.

  • Ability to demonstrable a strong level of technical and tactical football knowledge and game understanding.

  • Ability to relate to and understand young people, demonstrating personality and enthusiasm.

  • Experience of working in pressurised situations and to deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent written and IT skills.

  • Ability to adapt and change at short notice.


Desirable

  • Experience of working within a Professional Development Phase.

  • Experience of working at a 1st team level.
