Lead Performance Lifestyle Advisor

About The Role

Leicester City Women are seeking an outstanding individual to take up a brand new role. The Lead Performance Lifestyle Advisor will work with our First Team players and staff, to provide a player-centred coaching and mentoring programme, supporting the balance between world-class performance and the care for the player behind that performance.

You will be responsible for providing holistic support to our players, working with them to minimise any factors that may compromise their performance on the pitch, as well as supporting their growth and wellbeing off the pitch. You will do this through individual and group sessions.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of:

  • Contributing to the design, content, delivery and evaluation of education and development interventions for individuals and groups.

  • High performance athletes’ issues and have the credibility to facilitate solutions which impact on wellbeing and performance.

  • Working within a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of support services in a high-performance environment.

  • Providing education and career management development advice and guidance.

  • Supporting personal development of clients through coaching and mentoring

The ideal candidate will also have the following skills and knowledge:

  • An understanding of the needs of elite players in a high-performance environment.

  • An understanding the UK further education system/ career management

  • Coaching, mentoring, negotiating and influencing skills.

  • An understanding of the multi-disciplinary practice of various sports science and medicine disciplines surrounding elite athletes.

Do you have these requirements?


  • Degree level (or equivalent) in sports management, sports science or a discipline relevant to the management and personal development of high performing individuals; or significant experience of education systems or elite sporting systems from an athlete or coaching perspective.

  • Professional coaching and mentoring qualification (level 7 equivalent) and/or individual accreditation (ie EMCC or ICF).

  • Hold an in-date FA Safeguarding Children Certificate or is willing to complete the FA Safeguarding Children Workshop within three months.

  • Experience of working with elite athletes.

  • To undertake regular Club safeguarding training updates (CPD) appropriate to the role.


  • Higher degree level (or equivalent) in sports management, sports science or a discipline relevant to the management and personal development of high performing individuals.

  • Experience of working in professional Women’s football.

In May 2021, LCFC Women were promoted to the FA Women’s Super League. From its formation in 2004, the Club was run on an amateur and semi-professional basis with support from Leicester City Football Club. In August 2020, the Club turned professional after being acquired by King Power International – Leicester City’s parent company – and realigned as a core team in Leicester City’s football operation.
