The EFL
The EFL The English Football League (EFL) is the largest single body of professional clubs in European football and is responsible for administering and regulating the Sky Bet EFL, Sky Bet Play-Offs, Carabao Cup and Papa Johns Trophy competitions.
The Role
The EFL is seeking to appoint two Independent Non-Executive Director’s (INED) to its Board. The INED’s role is to provide a proactive contribution by providing independent oversight and constructive
challenge to the Board.
The INEDs will help shape the strategic direction of the EFL particularly in light of the recently published White Paper. In addition, the roles will review and challenge financial information and make sure
controls and systems of risk management are robust and appropriate.
The successful candidates will also Chair one (or more) of the Board sub committees.
The successful candidates will have a robust, evidenced track record in a senior executive or nonexecutive capacity within organisations of comparable complexity and profile along with an inquisitive nature and strong communication skills. The successful candidates will be required to spend a minimum of 24 days per annum on work for the EFL, which will include attendance at monthly board meetings and opportunities to represent the EFL in other situations.
