Head of Academy Physiotherapist
Description
AFC Wimbledon Academy are seeking a Lead Academy Physiotherapist to assist in the leading of the academy medical services, predominantly to U23s, to all academy players and assist with First Team where needed. Focusing on injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. The postholder will work across the whole academy performance pathway and assisting in the development and implementation of the working practices implemented by the medical team.
Main Objectives / Duties
1. Work as a key member of the Academy Medical Department and assume responsibility for all medical related matters appertaining to all age range Academy players
2. To assume responsibility for the assessment and treatment of all Academy players aged 9-21
3. To assist the Head of Academy Sports Science and Medicine to promote an environment of exceptional care to players maintaining the highest professional standards.
4. Lead on ensuring the club and players are compliant with all medical and antidoping guidelines, rules and regulations of governing bodies – as per EFL rules.
5. To ensure the academies injury audit is completed, assessed and information is used effectively to improve provision.
6. Oversee the co-ordination of the medical screening (cardiological and orthopaedic) for all academy players as designated by the FA
7. To maintain regular communication with the Club Doctor(s), Academy Medical Department, Physical Performance Department, Coaches and Physiotherapists concerning all medical/health matters as and when necessary to ensure all issues are addressed.
8. Assist in the delivery of CPD to all Academy Medical Staff
Qualifications and Experience
• Graduate Qualification in Physiotherapy (BSc/MSc)
• Qualified member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP)
• Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Minimum ITTMiF with capability to achieve ATTMiF
• DBS Enhanced Criminal Record Check
• FA Safeguarding Children Qualification (or capability to complete it)
• Valid UK Driving license

• This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week
