The City Football Finance Graduate Programme is designed to build core capability and skills to platform you for a successful finance career within our organisation. Each placement is designed to develop key skills, knowledge and behaviours that will support the business and your long-term career.
You will work across selected Finance teams to learn our core financial systems and apply that knowledge to support the business during key processes throughout the year. For example, financial planning and analysis for future acquisitions and business ventures, annual budgeting cycle and forecasting. The programme provides experience of working in a leading global sporting organisation and the opportunity to see and feel what the industry has to offer. You will have access to all functions within the finance department including management and technical accounting, Treasury, Tax, Financial processing, Business Partnering and International Finance. Whilst being supported through in-role development and on-rotation mentoring, the role is perfectly placed to experience and contribute to a high-performance culture.
Over a two-year period, you will undertake an initial induction and onboarding period followed by 2 rotations into different departments within CFG’s Finance functions: each rotation lasting approximately 11 months. The Graduate programme is intended to be a route into a permanent role within the Group, having honed your skills and experience to launch a successful career in finance at CFG.

Your Impact- Finance Project Planning & Management: You will learn how to support and ensure the smooth delivery of finance projects in a large and complex business. This will involve working closely with the Financial Planning and Analysis team involving financial modelling and preparing analysis for key financial and non-financial stakeholders. Support and ensure the smooth delivery of projects outcomes, identifying key milestones, monitoring and managing workflow, task/activity completion and manage and organise own day to day activities.
- Data & Insights: Organise, input, and manage internal and external data / documentation to produce relevant reports and insights relating to football finance. Identify trends and themes to support decision making on projects and business cases.
- Presenting & Communication: Create well formatted, effective business presentations for use by teams / other group stakeholders, based on manager guidance regarding structure and key messages in readiness for distribution to the wider business.
