Job Description

FC Cincinnati is a professional soccer team that plays in Major League Soccer, having entered the League as its 24th team in 2019. The club’s wide and diverse ownership group is led by controlling owner Carl H. Lindner III; as well as managing owners Meg Whitman and Dr. Griff Harsh; Scott Farmer; and George Joseph. Originally founded in 2015 by Lindner III and current president Jeff Berding, FCC began play in the United Soccer League (USL) in 2016. The club won the 2018 USL Regular-Season Championship in record-setting fashion and earned postseason berths in all three of its USL seasons. In 2017, FC Cincinnati also advanced to the semifinals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, a run that included victories over two MLS squads. FC Cincinnati opened the Club’s privately funded, 26,000-seat soccer-specific TQL Stadium in the West End neighborhood of Cincinnati in 2021.

Position Summary:

FC Cincinnati is looking for a Financial, Planning, and Analysis Analyst to join the Finance and Accounting team to support our growing business. This position needs to be a self-starter with incredible attention to detail, financial prowess, and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment. This position will partner closely with the accounting team and department heads to provide detailed analysis and forecasting on the entire FC Cincinnati enterprise.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the annual financial planning process, including the development of robust revenue, expense, and cash forecast assumptions

  • Create dynamic models and forecasts leveraging raw data and insights from multiple sources

  • Partner with department leadership to obtain business insights to be incorporated into the rolling forecast

  • Collaborate with Accounting team on detailed review of financial data and propose adjustments accordingly

  • Responsible for monthly reporting of actuals and variance analysis to department leadership

  • Assist in preparation of monthly reporting package and financial analytics for senior management

  • Maintain financial assumptions and working model

  • Ad hoc scenario analysis using the business forecasting model

Skill Requirements:

  • Self-starter, highly motivated, and detail oriented

  • Ability to proactively plan and trouble shoot issues at a fast pace

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines and priorities

  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a high functioning team

  • Superior Excel skills (i.e. vlookups, pivot tables, if/then statements, advanced calculations and formulas)

Qualifications & Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years of finance experience reporting and forecasting in an FP&A environment

  • Experience using financial reporting systems (NetSuite) and/or financial planning systems

  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and provide verification of vaccination prior to start date

  • Strong familiarity with GAAP (e.g. validating accruals/re-class activity

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills; ability to collect and analyze financial and operational data to develop projections and forecasts

  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours including but not limited to weekends and holidays as required by the FCC game schedule, special events, and projects
