Job Description

Job Title: Development Centre Coach
Department: Coaching
Reporting To: Technical Consultant
Remuneration: Competitive, dependent on qualifications and experience

Who we are looking for:

With an experience of working within an organised structure, the ideal candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of local grassroots football. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, forward thinking, modern coach with a passion to work with young athletes.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Deliver the Club coaching curriculum in line with Club’s coaching and playing philosophies.
• Design and implement practices that are specific to the age of the players in care, whilst aligning to the Club principles of play.
• Responsible for the planning, delivery and the review of high quality sessions in line with the Club’s coaching curriculum.
• Document and database within the mandatory timeline, the session plans and reflection logs for all Club sessions delivered.
• Engage in all the feedback sessions and continuous professional development (CPD) events organised by the Club.
• Perform and manage administrative duties when required.
• Be available for all player & parent review meetings.
• To act professionally when arriving for training/games, be set up and ready 15
minutes prior to the players arrival.
• Work in line with the Clubs playing and coaching philosophy to promote a culture
and identity throughout the Development Centre.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained, to give our players the best experience.
• Any other reasonable duties, as requested by the Technical Consultant/Development Centre Manager.

Person Specification:

• AIFF D Certificate
• First Aid Certificate
• AFC C Diploma
• AFC Level 1A Fitness and Conditioning

• Experience of working with young children in a football environment
• Experience of coaching youth teams in competition
• Competent in analysis software packages (Hudl Sports Code, SBG Focus, Dartfish, LongoMatch)

Knowledge and Skills
• Demonstrates good knowledge of the game
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Can connect with young people
• Understands different ages and stages of the development pathway
• Competent in Microsoft Office Suite and Apple software packages
• Coaching/sports/ relevant degree

Attitude/ Behaviours
• Ability to work under pressure and being compliant to deadlines
• A genuine team player
• A reliable individual

Personal Qualities
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan detailed sessions
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with players, parents and coaches both internally and externally
• Thorough and efficient in preparing and reviewing own performance
• Confident in administrative duties
• Enthusiasm for the role and a proactive thinker who always looks for opportunities to improve and enhance his/her/their coaching skills
• Be willing to go above and beyond to provide our players with the best experience possible on their development pathway
• Flexible to meet the requirements of the needs of the Club – this includes working weekends
• Ability to travel between different centres of the Club
