Job Description

Norwich City Football Club is looking to recruit someone on a casual basis to manage our Cambridge Centre of Excellence for players aged 6-8. The role to identify and recruit talented Academy footballers that have the potential to sign for Norwich City Academy. Due to the ad hoc nature of the role the candidate will need to be based in, or close to the Cambridge Area.

The centre manager would be required to facilitate the smooth running of the centre on a weekly basis, make sure all paperwork is completed and updated on the relevant IT systems, be a point of contact for both players and parents. They would also be working with the centre coach to ensure all reports are completed on time, along with feeding back on a weekly basis the progress of players.

The Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) is a long-term plan introduced by the Premier League to promote the development of a world leading Academy system. It aims to deliver an environment that promotes excellence, nurtures talent and systematically converts this talent into professional players capable of playing First Team football at the Club that develops them. Within the plan professional Clubs are awarded a categorisation for their Academy, depending on their ability to fulfil the criteria outlined above. Our Academy has been awarded the highest possible status (Category One).

Successful applicants will be paid an hourly rate which will be systematically reviewed so that high achievers are offered higher remuneration.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years coaching experience..

The following criteria are essential:

  • Minimum of FA Level 2 in coaching football.

  • Ideally UEFA B (FA Level 3 in coaching football)

  • FA Safeguarding Certificate

  • FA Emergency Aid / IFFAS

  • Knowledge of local academy football

  • Experience or a background in scouting

  • Self-motivated and committed

  • A strategic planner, organiser and co-ordinator

  • Confident with the ability to work individually and as part of a successful team

  • A ‘people person’ with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Computer literate

  • Full driving license
