Job Description

LINE MANAGER

  • Responsible for the effective management and development of the BluesTV creative and technical team members within the marketing department, ensuring effective fulfilment of the roles and duties across the Club.

  • Conduct regular one-to-ones and reviews to ensure effective performance management.

  • Lead a weekly BluesTV update to ensure effective communication and planning within the department and across the Club.

  • Make recommendations and requests in relation to the development of staff.

  • Deliver a monthly report and provide analysis on viewing figures for all audio-visual platforms.

  • Manage a pool of freelance staff and be responsible for raising payments.


AUDIO-VISUAL CONTENT (to oversee or carry out)

  • Responsible for the planning, production and delivery of all audio-visual content for the Club (football and non-football departments).

  • Create and implement a strategy for BluesTV that supports the marketing and commercial objectives for the Club to increase subscription numbers.

  • Contribute creative and innovative ideas and ensure all content is produced to a high standard, driving traffic and interest to the Club’s various media platforms.

  • Act as a Camera Guarantee and ensure that pre and post-match interviews with playing and management staff for all BCFC teams are produced.

  • Obtain footage and publish highlights for all BCFC team fixtures including U18s, U21s, BCFC and BCWFC as and when required.

  • Attend Club events and support with coverage on the Club’s official media and social channels when required.

  • Ensure all equipment (i.e., camera and technical equipment) and software is maintained.

  • To provide audio-visual content and manage and organise the larger Club promotional activities e.g. kit launch, season ticket launches, player appearances and PR events.

  • Ensure all brand guidelines and sponsorship are adhered to when creating AV digital content.

  • Working with Media and Social Media teams to constantly improve video output.


MATCHDAY – To work when required but ensure the below

  • Oversee the stream and audio commentary for BluesTV (Before match day).

  • Ensure the smooth running of the matchday programme schedule, including the direction of relevant matchday media staff (Before match day).

  • Ensure Direction of the Club’s in-house audio-visual matchday experience at St. Andrew’s including, but not limited to, the PA announcer, TV gallery for big screen programme, stadium TVs, music choice, live online video and audio streams, by leading matchday team (Before match day).

  • Ensure the audio commentary equipment and programming is set up pre-match (Before match day).

  • ​Brief match day ops to liaise with media team in the production of post-match interviews with playing and management staff.

  • ​Ensure a member of the BluesTV team is present to film each first-team match.

  • Ensure a member of the BluesTV team is at the stadium to produce and direct the live streaming video and audio content via the Club’s website.


GENERAL ROLES &RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with all the Policies and Procedures contained within the Staff Handbook, paying attention to the Equal Opportunities Policy and Health & Safety Policy and procedures always.

  • To familiarise with and adhere to all Football Association and Football League rules regarding all media production at the club.

  • To adhere to Confidentiality and Data Protection Laws at all times.

  • To protect the Club’s brand and ensuring all material produced is in line with the Club’s brand guidelines.

  • Any other duties as deemed necessary by your Head of Department.


PERSON SPECIFICATION​

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • A bachelor degree or equivalent, in an AV related subject, visual journalism, broadcasting or television production based subject or qualified by recent relevant experience.

  • Must possess a full clean driving license and own car.


Desirable Requirements​

  • Other software related qualifications.


Knowledge and Skills

Essential Requirements​

  • Demonstrable audio-visual skills working with AV equipment is essential (audio, video, lighting)

  • Writing Story boards, shot lists and planning shoots.

  • Ability to operate and build various cameras / rigs.

  • Adjusting, operating, assembling various video and audio content.

  • Working events and running video campaigns.

  • AV content for the Website & Social Media.

  • Must possess excellent camera skills and the ability to film or host post-match interviews.

  • Experience of managing a team.

  • Strong leadership experience and a collaborative approach; able to influence and engage with colleagues across the Club and up to a senior executive/Board level.

  • Must possess an excellent understanding of appropriate content formats for each platform

  • Will be able to source, research and produce fresh content for all channels on a daily basis to engage with our followers.

  • Have strong writing abilities and a keen eye for sourcing images.

  • Be able to generate creative ideas to gain more followers across our AV/Digital Media channels.


Desirable Requirements​

  • Commercial skills in all social channels including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

  • Ability to edit with Adobe Premier.

  • Adobe aftereffects.


Personal Requirements

  • Must be able to demonstrate passion for AV/Digital Media.

  • Sociable, hard-working, skilled.

  • The ability to use your own initiative.


Terms of Appointment ​

  • 5 hours per week.

  • 20 days annual leave (rising by 1 day per completed year of service, up to a maximum of 25 days, plus 8 statutory bank holidays).

  • 6-month probation period.


Only applicants that meet the above criteria will be considered for the role. Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are eligible to live and work in the UK.

This role is regarded as a ‘Regulated Activity’ and is therefore subject to an Enhanced DBS check, (previously a CRB check) which includes the barred list for working with children. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
