Founded in 1882, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club is an English Premier League Club, based in North London.
Led by the late great Bill Nicholson, the Club became the first in England to win the League and FA Cup Double in 1961, and the first in the UK to win a European Trophy two years later. Spurs has since been home to some of the game’s great entertainers, including Jimmy Greaves, Glenn Hoddle, Paul Gascoigne, David Ginola, Gareth Bale, Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane.
In April 2019, the Club opened an iconic new stadium that sits at the heart of a £1billion sport-led regeneration of North Tottenham. JOB PURPOSE:
As the Academy Physiotherapist Intern, you will be required to:
- Provide emergency cover to Academy training sessions, matches, national and international tournaments.
- Assist in the screening programme to Youth Development Phase.
- Deliver sessions under supervision of Senior Physiotherapists
You will have key internal relationships with the U9-14 Physiotherapist and the U15-16 Physiotherapist.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To work with the U9-16 Academy Physiotherapists to supply services to Foundation and Youth Development Phases.
- Liaise and communicate with all relevant stakeholders, this may include but not exhaustive to Coaching staff, Parents, Psychologists, Education staff, Player Wellbeing, and Sports Science
- Uphold Club, Medical Department, health & safety, ethics and safeguarding protocols, acting as a role model to players and staff alike and reflecting the Club’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Employ awareness of welfare issues, handling all matters with the utmost professionalism, diplomacy, and sensitivity.
- Attend refresher and development training when necessary.
- Be aware of emergency procedures and the Health & Safety at Work Act relating to the various sites.
- Check and maintain equipment for U9-16 travel bags.
- Be responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of medical room equipment.
- Assist in the screening of U9-16 players.
- Assist in growth and maturation Data collection.
- Assist in creating and delivery of individual prehabilitation programmes.
- Help to maintain an audit of injuries in the U9-16 age groups.
- Provide pitch side cover U9-16 age group home and away as required.
- Deliver sessions to U9-16 age group as required.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- HCPC Registered
- CSP Registered
- ITMMiF/ATMMiF
- FA Safeguarding Certificate
- BSc or MSc degree level qualification in Physiotherapy
- Valid UK driving licence.
- 1 year + Post graduate experience
- Maintains high professional and personal standards.
- Ability to work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team, values, and respects others.
- Be able to present to Parents, Coaches, and other clinicians.
- A commitment to relevant Continuous Professional Development.
- Be flexible to cross cover other phases in the Academy Medical Department where required.
